I was seriously delighted but nervous when i found out I would have the reigns over one of the looks whuch was creating the 1920's waves at the xpose live show. Delighted because i eat live and breathe vintage and nervous because I hadnt done something like this before. When i arrived on Friday morning i had no idea what to expect as. I went backstage I braced myself, faced the fear and thankfully they worked out beautifully and I'm so proud of myself. The models were sat in front of me, i knew what to do so it was just a matter of doing it. My weapons of choice, small wand, hair spray and silver clips lol.
Between the three of us, myself, Susanne and Patrick we had 13 female models, 3 gents, 6 dancers and the possibility of the presenters showing up for hair at any time. In true origin form we cracked on and in 3hours of pressure pressure pressure we turned out some great hair that we were very proud of. After hair was done we stood backstage and as the fashion shows music began i again got nervous as the models ran at us clothes literally flying everywhere, kept calm and armed myself with bobby pins and hair spray for any hairs that came out of place.
All this was repeated for three shows a day for three days. In between it all though i met some amazing people and had good laughs with them all. Fair play to all the girls who sat there getting prodded by us for three days, they worked so hard and looked beautiful. The xpose ladies themselves are all so down to earth and i was delighted to have met them.

Here I am going threw the stages of creating the waves. Step 1: Prep hair with hairspray and brush threw. Step 2: wand hair tightly forward in small sections. Step 3: brush out gently securing each wave with a silver clip. Step 4: hairspray x1000million lol, alot of hairspray and leave in silver clips till spray dries. When taking out the clips, be gentle, dont pull. |
